International seminar on sustainable tourism in Constantine in November

ALGIERS- Constantine will host an international seminar on “peace, security and sustainable tourism” in November, announced Wednesday the Ministry of National Planning, Tourism and Craft Industry Amar Ghoul.
“The international seminar on peace, security and sustainable tourism will be held in the eastern province of Constantine, in Algeria, in November, in coordination with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the State of Malta,” said the minister in Cote d’Ivoire on the sidelines of the international seminar on sustainable tourism, which coincides with the 58th meeting of WTO Committee for Africa.
In this regard, Ghoul underlined the importance of “complementarity and continuous coordination in the field between the different countries in order to achieve sustainable tourism away from any security concerns.”
Ghoul also proposed to put tourism among the priorities of sustainable development and set up a global strategy on tourism, based on coordination and complementarity between neighbouring countries of the region to achieve sustainable tourism.”
To that end, he stressed the need to “involve all the players in the sector of tourism in the debates on themes relating to security and raise awareness of civil society to achieve sustainable balance between tourism and security.”
On the sidelines of the seminar, Ghoul held discussions with Cote d’Ivoire’s Prime Minister Daniel Kablan Duncan and Minister of Tourism Roger Kacou.
