(English) Prime Minister holds, in Washington, talks with US Secretary of Commerce

WASHINGTON- Prime Minister Aimene Benabderrahmane held Wednesday, in Washington, talks with the US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, on the sidelines of his participation in the US-Africa Summit, in his
capacity as representative of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

During this meeting held during the African-American Business Forum, the two sides affirmed the two countries’ common willingness to strengthen the economic content of the bilateral relations in order to raise them up to the level of the political relations between Algeria and the United States.

In this regard, the Prime minister reviewed the reforms made by Algeria, following the guidelines of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune to improve the investment and business climate in the country, that enabled Algeria to establish itself as a destination for investments par excellence.

The two sides discussed the huge investment opportunities offered by the Algerian market thanks to the priorities defined by the Government in its action plan for the implementation of the programme of the President of the Republic, notably in the sectors of agriculture, basic infrastructures, energy, renewable energy and ICTs.

In this regard, Raimondo stressed the great interest expressed by the American operators to invest in Algeria.

The two sides stressed their joint efforts in order to accompany the investors and intensify contacts between the two countries’ businessmen.

In this regard, the two sides agreed to prepare a visit to Algeria by the US Secretary of Commerce, leading a large delegation of businessmen, scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.
