Algeria, UAE to sign 10 agreements Tuesday

ALGIERS- The Algerian-Emirati Investment Forum, held Monday in Algiers will culminate in the signing of nearly ten agreements in various areas, announced Minister of Industry and Mining Abdesslam Bouchouareb, who invited Emirati companies to strengthen their investments in Algeria.
In a statement to the press on the sidelines of the second meeting of its kind this year after that held in Abu Dhabi last April, Bouchouareb said that the Forum will wrap up with the signing of ten agreements, which were examined during Abu Dhabi meeting.
The minister added that the Forum, which has brought together 50 leading Emirati firms, would allow identifying projects that would help enhance bilateral cooperation up to the level of the strategic political relations between Algeria and the United Arab Emirates, as expressed by the Emirati delegation, led by Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Obaid Humaid Al Tayer.
In his address at the Forum, the minister called for setting up mechanisms for more effective implementation of the different agreements signed between the two countries.
Some 40 agreements and memorandums of understanding have been signed between the United Arab Emirates and Algeria. Most of them are related to investment, partnership, standardization, industrial park management, small and medium enterprises, tourism, education, agriculture, environment, sea transport, air services and consumer protection.
Among the sectors offering partnership opportunities, Bouchouareb cited petrochemical industry, engineering, petroleum by-products, pharmaceutical products, agriculture and food processing.
The minister also invited Emirati companies to explore other investment opportunities with Algerian partners.
