FREETOWN- Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum was received Thursday by President of the Republic of Sierra Leone Julius Maada Bio, with whom he discussed the means of relaunching bilateral cooperation
and deepening high-level consultations on issues of peace and security in Africa.
“I was honored to meet Julius Maada Bio, the president of the Republic of Sierra Leone. We discussed ways to relaunch bilateral cooperation, strengthen the historic ties uniting the two countries, and deepen consultations high level on peace and security issues in Africa,” Boukadoum tweeted.
On Wednesday, the foreign minister was received in Yaoundé by Cameroonian President Paul Biya as part of a working visit to this country at the invitation of his counterpart, Lejeune Mbella Mbella.
Boukadoum conveyed to the Cameroonian President the fraternal greetings of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune. In his message, President Tebboune expressed the desire to strengthen bilateral relations and consolidate the traditions of consultation on regional and international issues of common interest.
In addition, Boukadoum had talks with his Cameroonian counterpart, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, on the state of bilateral relations and the prospects for their consolidation.
The two Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strengthening political consultations between the two countries, said the source.
The situations in Libya, Western Sahara, Mali, and the Sahel, Lake Chad Basin and Central Africa regions were also on the agenda. Boukadoum and his Cameroonian counterpart stressed the need to increase efforts to promote African solutions to Africa’s problems.
