ALGIERS- Algerian Fahima Sebiane has been elected deputy chairman of African Confederation of Equestrian Sports, at the body’s constituent assembly meeting held Friday in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, the Algerian Equestrian Federation said Sunday.
Fifteen countries took part in the constituent assembly meeting, which voted Egyptian Hicham Hatab, the only candidate, as head of the African Confederation of Equestrian Sports.
In addition to his capacity as head of the Egyptian Federation of Equestrian Sports, Hatab is also the president of his Egypt’s Olympic Committee.
Friday’s meetings took place in the presence of Sheikh Khalid al-Khalifa, deputy chairman of the International Federation of Equestrian Sports and president of the “Group of the Seven,” made up of the equestrian sports federations of the Arab League.
