Attaf, Dutch counterpart discuss bilateral relations
The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, received Monday a phone call from Dutch Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra, with whom he discussed the relations between the two countries and the ways to enhance them.
The Dutch minister congratulated Algeria on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, wishing it success in its contribution to the strengthening of the role of this key UN body in keeping peace and security in the world.
The two sides also discussed Algerian-Dutch relations, ways and means to step up bilateral economic cooperation and the intensification of political dialogue on regional and international issues of common interest.
Wopke Hoekstra commended Algeria’s role and contribution in the face of the global energy crisis, describing it as a serious and liable partner for all, especially for his country, which aspires to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field.
