APS : THURSDAY 28 JANUARY 2021

ALGIERS- The pan-African incubation programme for startups “Africa by IncubMe,” presented Thursday in Algiers, will help make Algeria a true “African pole of innovation,” said Minister Delegate to
the Prime Minister in charge of the Knowledge Economy and Startups, Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid.
This program was “unique in Africa and will help make Algeria a true African pole of innovation and a hub for innovative projects,” said the minister.
It aims to provide project leaders with support from Algerian and foreign companies that are in the “Open Innovation” and help them find intelligent solutions for the continent.
“Africa by IncubMe,” sponsored by the Ministry in charge of Knowledge Economy and Startups and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will allow 20 innovative project leaders from the African continent to benefit from support on all levels to develop their ideas, said Adel Amalou, one of the founders of IncubMe.
The 20 startups that will be selected to join this program will go through two stages of selection, he said, explaining that the first will see 400 projects selected out of the 1200 applications expected, while the final selection will be made in consultation with the various partners of this program, according to their needs.
Applicants will be able to submit their projects in areas such as connected objects, health, hydrocarbons, Fintech or Agritech.
Incubation should begin, according to the project initiators, next April and will last six (06) months. It will take place in Algeria with full support from the incubator in terms of ticketing, accommodation, coaching, mentoring and even visits.
Registrations for the program will open in 10 days and will be made on the website www.africabyincubme.com.
