Messahel meets in Cairo with Abou El Gheit

ALGIERS- Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel, president of Arab League Ministerial Council held discussions on Monday in Cairo with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abou El Gheit,
said a communiqué of Foreign Affairs Ministry.
“The discussions focused on the first session of Arab-Japanese Political Dialogue, to be held on Monday, and the main questions inscribed on the agenda of the 148th session of the Arab League Ministerial Council, planned on September 12th. The question of the Arab League reform has also been broached,” added the same source.
The Minister and the Arab League chief also examined the developments of events in the Arab countries, as well as the different situations of crisis and conflicts, notably in Syria, Libya, Yemen and Iraq.
In this regard, Messahel underlined “the importance to be given to the political solutions to the crises, by privileging dialogue and the national reconciliation and ruling out all foreign interference.”
Abou El Gheit, as for him, expressed “his thanks to Algeria for its very active role within the Arab League and its efforts undertaken during its presidency of the Arab Organization’s Ministerial Council for the stability and the security in the Arab world,” concluded the communiqué.
