AL BAYDA (Libya)- President of the Libyan House of Representatives Akila Salah hailed, Wednesday, Algeria’s support for the settlement of the crisis in Libya, adding that “Algeria is the closest country to Libya and its position,
which has always been clear, is of great importance for the settlement of the crisis.”
Akila, who spoke at the end of his meeting with the minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and the Arab League Abdelkader Messahel, said that “Algeria is the closest country to Libya and the one that knows best the specificities and habits of the Libyan people, as well as its social component.”
“Algeria’s position, always clear, is based on the respect of the Libyan people, the rejection of all foreign interference, and the promotion of inter-Libyan dialogue,” said the Libyan official, hailing this position of “great importance for the settlement of the crisis.”
Akila said that he received, from Messahel, assurances concerning “Algeria’s availability to bring help and assistance to the Libyan people so that it can overcome its crisis, Algeria being fully aware of the complexity of the situation in Libya, hence its rejection of all foreign interference in Libya’s domestic affairs,” explained the Libyan official.
“Messahel, who came to advice, shares our conviction that the willingness of the Libyan people must imperatively be respected,” he said, adding that this visit “reflects all the interest Algeria grants Libya.”
In the same regard, Akila said that “Libya is indivisible and any settlement must be based on all-inclusive dialogue in order to be able to build a democratic State based on the peaceful alternation of power.”
During the meeting, Akila welcomed Messahel and conveyed greetings to the president of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and to the Algerian people, while hailing the interest that Algeria grants to Libya, and its position for dialogue and rejection of all foreign interference.
