Boukadoum partakes in 35th AU Executive Council

NIAMEY-The 35th ordinary session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) kicked off Thursday in Niamey (Niger), in the presence of Foreign Minister, Sabri Boukadoum.
Boukadoum leads the Algerian delegation at the two-day event held in preparation for the 12th AU Extraordinary Summit scheduled for 7 July in the Nigerian capital.
The meeting will examine the report on the results of the assessment mission of member States to receive the secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
In addition, participants in the meeting will discuss and adopt the AU 2020 budget and the component of the AU Commission.
The meeting will be an opportunity to the FMs of member countries to examine the report of the 38th session of the AU Permanent Representatives Committee (COREP) and the reports submitted by sub-committees of the Executive Council and ad-hoc committees.
The ministers will focus on the reports of the ministerial committee on the implementation of the Agenda 2063 and the ministerial committee on African candidatures within the international system.
The Executive Council will also examine and adopt the legal mechanisms of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD). They will also discuss the draft statutes of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).
The Executive Council will focus on the preparation of the first AU mid-term coordination meeting and the presentation of the report of the High Representative for AU financing.
