ALGIERS- Two memoranda of understanding were signed on cooperation in the field of environment and English language teaching in Algeria during the 9th session of the Algerian-UK Strategic Dialogue which was held Monday in Algiers.
On the sidelines of the meeting chaired by State Secretary in charge Community and Experts abroad Rachid Bladehane, and State Minister for Middle East and North Africa James Cleverly, the two parties signed the two memoranda of understanding.
The first agreement covers cooperation in the field of environment while the second one provides for the opening of English language teaching school in Algeria.
Cleverly’s visit to Algeria is part of “exchanges of high-level visits.”
The Minister of Industry and Mines last January represented Algeria in the Africa-United Kingdom Investment Summit in London.
In February, Lord Risby also paid a visit to Algiers as part of the British trade and investment mission in Algeria, said the foreign ministry in a statement.

The visit aims at “deepening dialogue on the interest issues, particularly the bilateral legal system and its change following Brexit, the promotion of the English language teaching in Algeria, through the opening of British schools in Algeria and the widening of the economic cooperation, in particular through a sustained contribution of Algerian skills established in the United Kingdom to the new Algerian Government policy,” he said.
