PARIS (France)- Algerian fencer Victor Sintes has snatched the leading position in male foil events at the Challenge Ernest Revenu, held on March 26-27 in the Val-De-Seine, France.
The 36-year-old Algerian has made a great achievement, especially as some of the best foilsmen in the world competed at the Paris event, a few months only ahead of Rio Olympics.
The 47th Challenge Ernest Revenu, organized by Melun Fencing Club, is open to the French as well as foreign fencers.
Such a result is very encouraging for the Algerian who will compete in the zonal tournament on April 14, in Algiers.
During April’s tournament, Sintes will try to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio.
Before competing in the Challenge Ernest Revenu, Sintes was on a long-period training session in Norcia, Italy.
