Algeria supplies Portugal with 2.5 billion m3 of gas per year

ALGIERS- Sonatrach and Portuguese oil and gas company Galp Energia have signed agreements on supply of Algerian natural gas to the Portuguese market, with a volume of 2.5 billion m3 a year,
the national hydrocarbon company said Tuesday.
Under these agreements, the Sonatrach and Galp extend their historical partnership by 10 additional years.
For Sonatrach, the agreements will boost its position as the main provider of the Iberian Peninsula.
The two companies are bound by a gas sales and purchase contract since 1994.
