Algeria, EU hold high-level annual meeting on energy Tuesday in Algiers

ALGIERS- The Algeria – European Union high level annual meeting on energy will be held on Tuesday in Algiers, energy ministry said in a communiqué.
Co-chaired by Energy Minister Mustapha Guitouni and European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Cañete, the meeting is part of Algeria-EU strategic partnership in the field of energy.
This partnership covers all the common-interest topics, namely hydrocarbons, renewable energies and energy efficiency, the reform of the legal and regulatory framework, the gradual integration of energy markets, the development of common interest infrastructures, technology transfer and local development.
During this meeting, the two parties will assess the progress made in the field of energy cooperation since the launch of the Strategic Partnership, particularly with regard to European investments in gas production and transport, as well as in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency in Algeria, the same source said.
The cooperation prospects to boost partnership and the relationships with a view to intensify them will also be discussed.
The Strategic Partnership established by Algeria and the EU in the energy field is a permanent and structuring part of the Algerian and European relations.
