OAPEC: Participants at Conference of Arab Oil Ministers welcome Algiers’ agreement

CAIRO- The participants in the 97th Conference of Arab Oil Ministers, members of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) whose works started Thursday in Cairo,
welcomed the agreement of Algiers and the efforts made by its government to reach this historic agreement, said diplomatic sources.
At the opening of the works, the Kuwaiti Minister of Oil, Electricity and Water Essam Abdulmohsen Hamad Al-Marzouk, also chairman of the current session, “welcomed the agreement of Algiers of 28 September and the efforts undertaken by the Algerian government to reach this historic agreement,” added the source.
The agenda of the conference, to which Minister of Energy Nouredine Boutarfa took part, focuses on the examination of the latest developments in the markets and their effects on the oil industry as well as the follow-up of the joint cooperation projects in the field of oil.
It also focuses on the adoption of the budget project of the secretariat general and the organization’s judicial body and also on the presentation of the secretariat general’s activities, notably those relating to the environment and climate.
OAPEC is made up of Algeria, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Egypt, Iraq, Qatar, Libya, Bahrain and Syria.
