OUARGLA-The 7th International Exhibition of Oil and Gas Products and Services “Hassi-Messaoud Expo” kicked off Sunday with the participation of nearly 200 exhibitors who came to showcase their products and
explore economic business and partnership opportunities.
The three-day exhibition is devoted to operators in hydrocarbon-related areas, like oil drilling, supply and maintenance services for industrial installations, instrumentation, industrial control and industrial lubricants.
Hassi-Messaoud Expo is an event for national and foreign economic operators (11 countries), not only to showcase their products and services and but also to engage in business contracts, especially as “subcontracting in the oil and gas industry (upstream and downstream) is attracting them”.
This economic event is also a contribution to the efforts to boost development in the country’s southern regions by providing national companies, notably young entrepreneurs, with a venue to showcase their knowhow and gain the experience of major international groups and multinationals in the region, affirmed Djaafar Yacini, Manager of Petroleum Industry Communications (organizing company).
The event’s agenda includes meetings and workshops on various themes related to business and investment. Organizers expect 8,000 visitors, notably oil and gas operators.
According to Wadie Lakhdari, Head of the maintenance department at the National Well Work Company (ENTP), participation in this exhibition is an opportunity to promote the company, one of the five largest national companies operating in the hydrocarbon sector.
Slimane Kadi, head of the Industrial Equipment Maintenance Company (MEI), a subsidiary of the Sonelgaz group), said that the exhibition “is an opportunity to present our offers of services and explore partnerships with other participants.”
Governor of Ouargla, Abdelkader Djellaoui, stressed the province’s willingness to provide energy companies with the right conditions to carry out their activities in the region and the possibility of their establishment in the new city of Hassi Messaoud and the industrial zone of Hassi-Benabdallah.
Representatives of some companies partaking in the exhibition have already announced their intention to carry out investment projects in this province, revealed Djellaoui.
