ALGIERS- Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum conducted a series of talks in Bamako on Sunday, focused mainly on the situation in Mali with many leading Malian figures, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
“As part of his visit to Bamako, Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum, had a series of interviews that focused mainly on the situation in Mali with many leading Malian actors,” the statement said.
The foreign minister met with “former Prime Minister of Mali, Soumeylou Boubeye Maiga, former Minister and Chairman of the Commission for Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) C of Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in Mali resulting from the Algiers Process Zahabi Ould Sidi Mohamed and Head of the Delegation for the Coordination of Azawad Movements at the Monitoring Committee of the Algiers Accord (CSA ), chaired by Algeria, Sidi Brahim Ould Sidati,” added the source.
Boukadoum, sent to by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, “also held talks with Malian political actors including in particular Imam Mahmoud Dicko, leader of the M5 Movement and President of the Convergence for the Development of Mali (CODEM), Housseini Amion Guindo,” added the release.
“The Malian interlocutors widely praised Algeria role in the region and its unwavering commitment to Mali and the Malian People, expressing their appreciation for the active solidarity that Algeria has always shown to this brother and neighbor country,” concluded the ministry.
