Louh, Nigerian Minister Mustapha Abdallah discuss fight against drug and criminality

NEW YORK-Justice Minister Tayeb Louh discussed Wednesday in New York the fight against drug trafficking and criminality with Nigerian Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah, minister and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the UN extraordinary session on World Drug Problem.
Discussions with Mustapha Abdallah focused on means to dry up terrorism funding sources, as the majority of which comes from drug trafficking.
Both parties reiterated during the meeting their common position on drug prohibition, provided by several UN conventions, and highlighted the need to strengthen prevention against this scourge in Africa as many countries have become a hub for this trafficking.
Besides, Louh and Mustapha Abdallah broached bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Nigeria, two founding countries of the New partnership for Africa’s development (Nepad).
