ALGIERS- The fifth session of the Algerian-Maltese Joint Cooperation Commission is to be held Wednesday in Valetta, Malta, the ministry of Foreign Affairs said Monday in a statement.
The session, to be preceded by a meeting at the level of senior officials Tuesday, “comes following visits to Algeria by Malta’s Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, in November 2015, and President of the Republic Marie-Louise Collier Preca, in January 2016, during which they decided to revive the commission,” the statement said.
The Algerian delegation to the meeting, made up of the representatives of many sectors, will be led by Minister of Energy Mustapha Guitouni, who will co-chair the joint commission meeting with Malta’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion, Carmelo Abela.
The fifth session of the Algerian-Maltese Joint Cooperation Commission will be an opportunity for the two sides to “review bilateral cooperation and discuss the prospects for its development,” according to the statement.
“Several bilateral draft agreements under way, some of which relating to health, veterinary, plant protection issues, are expected to be signed during the session.”
