Congolese president starts State visit to Algeria

ALGIERS- The president of the Republic of Congo Denis Sassou N’Guesso started Monday, a four-day State visit to Algeria, at the invitation of the president of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Upon his arrival at Houari Boumediene international Airport, the Congolese president was welcomed by the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa, the minister of State, minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra and members of the government.
This visit, which is part of the strengthening of long-standing friendship and fraternity relations between the two countries, will allow the two sides to review their bilateral cooperation and identify the ways to give it a new boost and adapt it to the mutual benefit of both peoples.
The meetings between the two heads of State will also allow discussing regional and international issues of common interest, particularly the challenges facing African countries to guarantee peace, security and stability across the continent.
