ALGIERS- The Algerian-Zambian cooperation has always been “strong,” said Wednesday, in Algiers, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra, underlining that it is “important” to “strengthen our economic cooperation to promote it to a win-win partnership.”
“Algeria and Zambia have long-standing and fraternal relations which have always been strong,” said Lamamra following his meeting with the Zambian Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba, who is on a visit to Algeria.
In this regard, he said that it is “important to strengthen our economic relations to promote them to a win-win partnership, taking into consideration the economic complementarities between the two countries.”
“We will work together to reflect the quality of the political relations” between the two countries, he said, adding that “I consider that the excellent quality of our bilateral relations requires the promotion of economic and commercial relations”.
In this regard, Lamamra added that the meeting of the Algerian-Zambian joint commission, which hasn’t met since 2010, will be an “important moment” for this cooperation.
Lamamra said that at the invitation of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the Zambian President has accepted to pay a State visit to Algeria this year, pointing out that “we will work to make from this visit an excellent opportunity to further develop our partnership and give it a boost.”
