China-Arab Cooperation Forum hails Algeria’s national reconciliation policy

DOHA (Qatar)- The China-Arab ministerial Forum ended Thursday, in Doha (Qatar), with the adoption of “the Declaration of Doha,” which hailed the global policy of the president of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, aimed at establishing peace and national reconciliation in Algeria.
The participants in the Forum, attended by the minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and the Arab League, Abdelkader Messahel underlined, about the Libyan crisis, “the commitment for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Libya and for the non-interference in its internal affairs.”
The participants also hailed the transfer of the Presidential Council of National Accord to Tripoli, and the call for all the Libyan parties “to cooperate in order to facilitate the political transition.”
Furthermore, they hailed the efforts made by Algeria and the neighbouring countries to facilitate dialogue between the Libyan parties.
Concerning the Syrian crisis, the forum underlined the need to preserve Libya’s unity and sovereignty, insisting on the non interference in the country’s internal affairs and on the importance of reaching a political settlement to the crisis based on the Declaration of Geneva1.
The participants also hailed Algeria’s positive and effective role in order to reach the signing of a peace and reconciliation agreement by the Malian parties.
The Forum condemned terrorism in all its kinds, underlining the need to combine efforts to fight this phenomenon under the aegis of the United Nations.
Finally, the participants hailed the results of the international conference on the fight against extremism, hosted by Algeria in July 2015.
The works of this forum culminated in the signing of an executive programme for the strengthening of the China-Arab cooperation particularly in the fields of economy, protection of the environment, scientific research and information.
