Messahel delivers president Bouteflika’s message to Indian counterpart

NEW DELHI (India)- Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel was received Thursday in New Delhi, by President Ram Nath Kovind of India, to whom he delivered a written message from President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Algeria’s foreign policy chief, on an official visit to India, reiterated Algeria’s commitment, expressed in the head of State’s message, to continuing efforts to boost bilateral cooperation.
Messahel stressed the Declaration of Strategic Partnership the two countries signed in 2001, during President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s visit to New Delhi.
President Kovind said his country “considers President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika as a real friend of India and a staunch supporter of the causes of peace and development.”
President Bouteflika “is held in high esteem in India.”
Prewident Kovind stressed the historic relations of solidarity between Algeria and India, expressing his satisfaction with the level cooperation between Algeria and India has reached.
He underlined the interest attached to its strengthening and diversification in various fields.
He also tackled other regional and international issues of common interest, especially the situation in the region, the fight against terrorism and violent extremism and migration challenge.
