ALGIERS- United States Ambassador to Algeria Joan Polaschik expressed, in a message on Algerian National Diplomacy Day, her country’s gratitude to Algeria and underlined its role as a catalyst for regional stability and cooperation, as well as its constructive efforts for peace in Mali and Libya.
“On Algerian National Diplomacy Day, I would like to express the United States’ appreciation of Algeria’s key role as a catalyst for regional stability and cooperation, in particular its ongoing constructive efforts in support of peace in Mali and Libya,” said the US ambassador in her message.
“The United States and Algeria’s history of cooperation and respect ensures a continuous dialogue on key issues of mutual interest,” said the US diplomat, adding that “it also has contributed to the resolution of some of the United States’ most difficult problems, including the taking of 52 American hostages in Iran.”
“The American people and government remain profoundly grateful to the Algerian government for its role in freeing our hostages, and we salute the talented women and men of the Algerian Foreign Ministry who continue Algeria’s tradition of creative, skilled diplomacy,” said Joan Polaschik.
“We look forward to deepening bilateral relations and working together to build a prosperous and secure world for future generations,” concluded the US ambassador.
