PRETORIA- Algerian researcher Malik Maaza, specialist in nanoscience and nanotechnology, was decorated Thursday by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa with the “Order of Mapungubwe,”
for his contribution in the scientific and technological field.
In the official ceremony organized in the honor of the winners of the different orders of merit for 2019, President Ramaphosa expressed his recognition for the personal and professional success of these winners and their scientific contribution for South Africa.
Pr Maaza, who was decorated in the category “Silver,” is involved in the development of advanced techniques for the treatment of cancer tumors within the Centre “i-Themba Labs,” a technique that the researcher hopes to introduce in Algeria with the support of this centre’s officials.
