MONTPELLIER- Algerian films are scheduled in official competition at the 38th Mediterranean Film Festival, to be held from 21 to 29 October in Montpellier (southeast of France), said the event’s organizers.
Feature film “Etoile d’Alger” (Star of Algiers) by Rachid Benhadj will compete in the feature film section alongside nine films from Tunisia, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece and other.
In the short film category, the film “L’échappée” (Breakaway), an Algerian-American-Belgian coproduction made by Hamid Saidji and Jonathan Mason, will compete with 22 other films Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine and others.
In the documentary category, the French-Algerian film “Samir dans la poussière” (Samir in the dust) is selected with eight other productions from Tunisia, Lebanon and Switzerland.
