Sabri Boukadoum received by Tunisian president Béji Caïd Essebsi
TUNIS- Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum has been received Saturday by Tunisian president Béji Caïd Essebsi, at the palace of Carthage.
The meeting revolved around the particular and strategic relations between Tunisia and Algeria, and the means to foster them in all the fields, notably by bolstering economic and commercial cooperation and the development of border regions.
The two parties examined several regional and international questions of common interest, in particular the “situation of the Maghreb region and the Arab countries, as well as the serious developments in Libya and their direct impact on the security and the stability in the region and the efforts conducted to end fighting and resume the political dialogue between the Libyan parties.”
On Friday in Tunis, Sabri Boukadoum called on the Libyan parties to gear towards a political settlement of the crisis in their country.
Holding a news conference with Tunisian counterpart Khémaies Jhinaoui, Boukadoum said the return to dialogue and negotiations between Libyans, from all factions “remains the ideal solution to end hostilities and escalation, and with the support of the neighboring countries and the international community.
