Algeria’s “key role” in preserving stability in region hailed

ALGIERS- The Chairman of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security Committee at the Senate of the Czech Republic Frantisek Bublan hailed Tuesday, in Algiers, the “key role of Algeria in the Arab Maghreb and in the Sahel region in terms of preserving stability and security.”
The Czech parliamentarian affirmed, in a meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the People’s National Assembly Said Lakhdari who replaced this institution’s Speaker Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa, “his country’s willingness to promote the cooperation with Algeria, as a friendly country, in all the fields.”
For his part, Lakhdari broached “the effects of the situation in the Sahel and in Libya on the two countries and presented Algeria’s pioneering experience in the fight against terrorism until the national reconciliation which has become a model for all the countries facing hostilities and fitna (discord).”
The head of the Committee of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Community at the People’s National Assembly Noureddine Belmeddah who attended the meeting reaffirmed, for his part, “Algeria’s unfailing support to the Palestinian cause” and “its consistent position vis-à-vis the conflict in Western Sahara.”
The meeting also allowed broaching “the long-standing bilateral relations strengthened over the last few years at the political, economic and cultural levels as well as the cooperation between the two countries in the parliamentarian field, energy, defence, agriculture, training and culture.”
