ALGIERS- The Swedish trio “HOF”, accompanied by Algerian drummer Youcef Grim, delighted on Sunday evening Algiers audience with a variety of musical compositions enabling cultural exchange and mutual
understanding between the two peoples.
The trio performed at Ibn Zeydoun theatre as part of the 20th European Cultural Festival, opened last Friday in Algiers.
The trio’s name derives from the initials of the musicians composing it, namely Anders Von Hofsten on keyboard, Oile Linder on guitar and drum, Fredrik Gille on drum.
The musicians delighted the audience, along with Algerian drummer Youcef Grim, with a series of musical pieces taken from “Cosmic Lullabies” Album by Anders Von Hofsten and unpublished songs of Oile Linder.
Performed in English and French, the songs are based on Jazz music mixing several cultures like Oriental songs, Flamenco, and South American rhythms, such as samba, Bolero, or Rumba.
The audience was enthralled for 75 minutes with a number of amazing songs.
Amongst the songs performed by the trio, “Nini,” “Se fram emot,” “One,” “I balans,” “Pearl,” “Percussion deluxe,” “Night of desespero,” ” Kom tillbaks,” “Flyg flyg,” “My stride” and “The drums.”
The evening was marked by the participation of Swedish ambassadors in Algiers, Sw?rd Kapra and John O’Rourke as well as Head of the European Union delegation in Algiers.
