Turkish President congratulates President Tebboune for Eid al-Fitr

ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Tuesday a phone call from his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan who offered his best wishes on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr,
exchanging on the efforts made in the two countries to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and reviewing the situation in the region, said a communiqué of the Presidency.
“President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Tuesday a phone call from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan who offered him, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, his wishes for health and happiness, hoping further prosperity well-being for the Algerian people,” said the source.
“For his part, President of the Republic offered bus best wishes to his Turkish counterpart and the brotherly Turkish people.”
The two presidents “exchanged information on the efforts made in the two countries to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, while reviewing the situation in the region,” added the source.
In this respect, “the two presidents denounced Israel’s projects to annex new Palestinian grounds, considering it a new blatant violation of the international law and an additional hindrance to the peace process.”
Concerning the development of the situation in Libya, the two parties agreed to “increase efforts to impose, in a first stage, the ceasefire, as a necessary prelude to facilitate the inter-Libyan political solution, based on the respect of the popular legitimacy guaranteeing Libya’s sovereignty and its territory’s unity,” concluded the source.
