Social Policy Minister Meets with Algerian Ambassador

Labour and Social Policy Minister Georgi Gyokov met with Algerian Ambassador Baya Bensmail, his Ministry said. The two discussed the possibilities of deepening bilateral relations in the field of social security and the labour market and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for the development and promotion of cooperation in the field of labour, employment and social security.
The meeting focused on marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Algeria this year and preparations for the conclusion of a Social Security Agreement to regulate the social rights of Bulgarians and Algerians who worked and / or lived in both countries. Minister Gyokov and Ambassador Bensmail agreed that Bulgaria and Algeria would exchange experience at the expert level in the field of labour legislation, working conditions and social security, the statement said.
