President Tebboune reiterates Algeria’s commitment to NAM’s principles, goals

BAKU (Azerbaijan)- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune reiterated in his address at the Non-aligned Movement (NAM) Contact Group Summit, whose works are being held in Baku, Azerbaijan,
Algeria’s continued commitment to NAM’s principles and goals that have proven, in the course of events structuring international relations, their accuracy and validity in the current context.
President Tebboune, in an address read on his behalf by Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane at a meeting on post-Covid-19 era, called on the member countries to “renew commitment to the movement and increase efforts to boost its role in rebalancing the international relations marked by new challenges.”
The president of the Republic said “the current international situation requires that our movement assume its responsibilities in relation to the challenges facing our countries.”
He mainly cited the “the increase in regional and international hotbeds of tension, challenges imposed by the arms race and the worsening of the climate crisis as well as the health crisis due to the propagation of pandemics threatening millions of human beings worldwide.”
