President Keita pays tribute to President Bouteflika for peace efforts in Mali

ALGIERS-Mali’s President Ibrahim Boubakar Keita on Saturday paid a glowing tribute to Algeria and President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika for “his efforts and personal commitment”
to supporting Malians in their efforts for security and peace in the country, said the Foreign Ministry in a communiqué.
In his opening address to the Regional Conference on security situation in the Sahel and West Africa held by ECOWAS in collaboration with the African Union (AU) and the United Nations (UN), President Keita paid “a glowing tribute to Algeria and President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika for his efforts and personal commitment to supporting Malians in their efforts for peace and security in the country,” said the communiqué.
President of Togo and President-in-Office of ECOWAS Faure Gnassingbe, former President of Burundi and High Representative of the AU for the Sahel region Pierre Buyoya and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of MINUSMA Mahamat Salah Annadif attended the opening ceremony.
Besides, many ECOWAS FMs, members of the Malian government and other senior officials of regional and international organizations took part in the Conference.
