Mr. Attaf receives ambassadors of ECOWAS member countries
The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, received Thursday in Algiers the ambassadors of the member countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), as part of the promotion of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s initiative for a peaceful and political solution to the crisis in Niger.
The Foreign Minister met with the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Algeria, whose country is holding the presidency of the ECOWAS, the ambassadors of Senegal, Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau.
Attaf handed over to his guests copies of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s initiative, explaining its main elements and its fundamentals and goals.
The minister expressed Algeria’s desire to work in full coordination with the ECOWAS to strengthen the possibilities for a political and peaceful solution to the crisis in Niger and prevent the use of force, in order to preserve peace, security and stability in Niger and the whole region.
