ALGIERS-Minister for Maghreb Affairs, the African Union and the Arab League Abdelkader Messahel will partake on 7-8 April in the Conference on Preventing Violent Extremism in Geneva,
the Foreign Affairs ministry announced Thursday in a communiqué.
Messahel’s participation in this conference comes in response to a joint invitation from the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Swiss Federal Councillor and Foreign Minister Didier Burkhalter, the same source stated.
This conference “will be an opportunity for Messahel to present Algeria’s de-radicalization experience and highlight its role in accord between nations on the fight against violent extremism and counterterrorism worldwide,” the communiqué added.
