International workshop against violent extremism, terrorism on Monday, Tuesday in Algiers

ALGIERS- An international workshop on the role of national reconciliation in the prevention of the fight against violent extremism and terrorism will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Palace of the Nation in Algiers said Saturday,
the ministry of Foreign Affairs in a communiqué.
The workshop, organized at Algeria’s initiative, and which is part of the continuation of efforts in terms of the fight against violent extremism and terrorism, will gather high officials and experts in these fields, representatives of member countries of the Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) and the United Nations Security Council, as well as countries of the Sahel region and international and regional organizations, including the UN, the African Union, the European Union, Europol, the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), invited to partake in this workshop.
“This important meeting will allow participants to draw on the Algerian experience in terms of national reconciliation, an initiative taken by the president of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika to bring peace, security and stability to the country and which allowed to put a definite end to fitna, which plunge the Algerian people into grief during the nineties,” underlined the source.
The official opening ceremony of this international workshop will be chaired by the minister of foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel.
