Gaid Salah meets with Emirati senior officials

ALGIERS-Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah, Deputy Minister for National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army has met Monday with Emirati senior officials under his participation in the 13th International Defence Exhibition and Conference “IDEX-2017,”
the National Defence Ministry said in a communiqué.
“On the 2nd day of his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as representative of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference “IDEX-2017,” Gaid Salah met with Emirati senior officials,” said the source.
“Gaid Salah was received by Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, Minister of Defence Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum and Ruler of Dubai, to whom he “conveyed the greetings of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, his attachment to the preservation of the strong Algeria-UAE relations in all fields and his willingness to develop them in the service of both peoples’ future.”
Moreover, Gaid Salah held talks with Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs of the UAE.
The meeting focused on the state of common projects in military equipment and both sides expressed “their full willingness to broaden this partnership to other beneficial fields for both armies.”
Furthermore, Gaid Salah also met with Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.
Both officials assessed bilateral multifaceted military cooperation and expressed their willingness to strengthen it.
The ambassador of Algeria to the UAE, the Attaché of defence within the embassy of Algeria and members of the delegation attended these meetings.
Gaid Salah subsequently visited some stands of the “IDEX-2017” like those of the UAE, Germany, Russia and China, where he inquired about new exhibited equipment, weaponry and defence systems.
