At the Diplomatic Institute, the first working meeting was held between our director, Mrs. Tanya Mihailova, and the ambassador of Algeria to Bulgaria, H.E. Mrs. Baya Bensmail.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mrs. Mihailova briefly introduced Ambassador Bensmail to the main priorities of the Diplomatic Institute in the field of educational, research, public and project activities, as well as to the Institute’s programs aimed at young people. The two discussed the potential opportunities for concrete implementation of the signed 2018 Memorandum of Cooperation between the Diplomatic Institute and the Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations at the Algerian MFA, including by holding an online meeting between the teams of the two institutes dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Algeria, which we celebrate this year, exchange of publications and research developments for inclusion in our magazine “Diplomatsia”, as well as participation on the part of the Algerian side in a future training course for a trainee attaché in the Bulgarian MFA. Specific possibilities and time period for organizing an exhibition of archival documents and photographs dedicated to the anniversary were also discussed.
At the end of the conversation, Mrs. Mihailova presented Ambassador Bensmail with the latest editions of the magazine “Diplomatsia” and the collection “Energy and Climate Diplomacy”.
