Foreign Ministry SG receives US Deputy Secretary of State
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Lounes Magramane received Sunday the United States (US) Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Joshua Harris, who is on a working visit to Algeria. The two officials discussed the ways to support the efforts of the United Nations (UN) for a political solution to the Western Sahara issue that guarantees the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Lounes Magramane, today received at the Ministry’s headquarters the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Joshua Harris, who is on a working visit to Algeria as part of his tour of the region.
During their talks, the two sides reviewed ways to support the UN’s efforts to find a political solution to the Western Sahara issue that guarantees the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, in addition to the latest developments in the Sahel, particularly the crisis in Niger.
Magramane and Harris also discussed issues relating to the Algeria-US relations, in anticipation of the next session of the strategic dialogue between the two countries, scheduled for October in Washington.
