Council of Nation takes part, in Jordan, in meetings on sustainable development objectives, population and development

ALGIERS- The Council of the Nation will take part from 18 to 20 July, in Amman (Jordan), in the regional forum on the strengthening of monitoring capacities of sustainable development and in the meeting of the Arab and Asian
parliamentarians on population and development, said Monday the Council of the Nation in a communiqué.
Member of the Council of the Nation Abdelouahab Benzaim will participate on Tuesday and Wednesday in the regional forum on the strengthening of the monitoring capacities of sustainable development, organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in collaboration with its regional bureau for the Arab States and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
This forum aims at “reviewing the conclusions of the international conference on the population and development in the Arab countries (Cairo Declaration 2013) and strengthening priority objectives of sustainable development, including the indicators specified by the international conference by adapting them at the national level.”
In his quality as vice-president of the Forum of the Arab Parliamentarians on Population and Development, member of the Council of the Nations Abdelmadjid Teguiche will take part in the meeting of the Arab and Asian Parliamentarians on Population and Development which will be held from 18 to 20 July, organized by the Japanese Fund for population in coordination with the general secretariats of the forum of Arab parliamentarians on population and development and the United Nations population Fund.
This meeting’s agenda includes the examination of several themes relating to young refugees, internal movement of peoples and immigration, challenges and achievements in the field of accountancy, transparency and good governance as well as the role of parliamentarians in the agenda 2030 for sustainable development.
