Attaf receives phone call from Canadian counterpart
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf received Thursday a phone call from his Canadian counterpart, Melanie Joly, on the sidelines of his working visit to New York.
The two FMs exchanged views on regional issues, including the results of the Arab Summit in Jeddah, the latest developments in the Sahel-Saharan region, as well as prospects for strengthening international support for the Republic of Mali and Algeria’s efforts to enable the Malian parties to resume implementation of the peace and reconciliation agreement resulting from the Algiers process.
The two officials also discussed developments in the crisis in brotherly Sudan.
At the end of their phone conversation, the Canadian FM extended an invitation to Attaf to visit Canada, in order to pursue political dialogue and review ways to boost cooperation.
