Algeria, Tunisia and Libya insist on necessity of completing political process through inter-Libyan dialogue

TUNIS- Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi and Libya’s Minister of Foreign Affairs
and International Cooperation Najla Al-Mangoush insisted on the importance of stability in Libya to ensure security and stability in the whole region, in addition to the necessity of completing the political process through an inter-Libyan dialogue.

In a final communiqué of the tripartite meeting Tunisia-Algeria-Libya, held in Tunis, the three foreign ministers stressed the importance of the elections to build the future of Libya in security, stability and national unity, so as to enable it to rebuild itself and regain its place in the region as an economic and financial hub likely to contribute to the economic integration of all the region’s countries, to the strengthening of the economic stability in the neighboring countries, to the support of economic strategic partnerships in the basis of common interests, reciprocal economic advantages and of sustainable and overall development.

The ministers emphasized the importance of uniting the Libyan national effort to achieve the national reconciliation and unifying the ranks and views according to a political process approach led by Libya as part of the active collaboration with the international community.

In this regard, the ministers welcomed the forthcoming resumption of the works of the joint constitutional commission in Cairo, and encouraged their members representing the House of Representatives and the High Council of State to seize this opportunity to reach the necessary consensus in order to finalize the elaboration of the constitutional basis that enables the Libyan people to exercise their sovereign right to choose their leaders and representatives as soon as possible.

On this occasion, the ministers enquired about the ongoing preparations for the Arab Summit to be held in Algeria on 1 and 2 November 2022, in addition to the efforts made for the success of this important Arab event in order to reach ambitious decisions and results meeting the aspirations of the Arab peoples.

The three ministers welcomed Algeria’s commitment to creating the conditions conducive to bringing Arab countries together, expressing their total support for the moves aimed at reaching the necessary consensus for the relaunch of the Arab peace initiative and ensuring a fair, lasting and global solution to the Palestinian issues for the establishment of a Palestinian State according to the borders of 1967 with al-Quds as capital, in addition to the success of the reform project of the Arab League to be in tune with the regional and international developments and the strengthening of the Arab world’ position at the international level.
