ALGIERS-Algeria will host the 32nd edition of the Arab Scouts Camp from 25 August to 5 September 2018 with a “record” participation of 19 Arab countries represented by more than 1200 scouts,
announced Tuesday the Commander of the Algerian Muslim Scouts (SMA) Mohamed Bouallag.
Themed “The Arab Dream”, this edition, held under the aegis of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, will be attended for the first time by girl scouts and will take place at the African Village of Sidi Fredj (Algiers), said Bouallag in a press conference.
In collaboration with the Arab Scout Region, Algeria will host for the third time the “greatest scouting event” of the Arab world, in which will partake representatives of “friendly countries” from Africa and Europe, stated Bouallag.
According to the speaker, the organizing committee prepared a series of activities including a concert on 26 August at Sablettes entertainment centre, which will be inaugurated by the Governor of Algiers Abdelkader Zoukh.
Besides, Algeria’s numerous guests will participate in various entertaining games, educational and tourist visits to Algiers, Tipaza and Chrea, as well as activities at sea and thematic conferences.
“We want participants to retain a positive image of Algeria, its achievements in the recent years and its civilizational, tourist, cultural and tourist heritage,” said Bouallag.
The 32nd Arab Scouts Camp will be “environment friendly” because it includes awareness raising campaigns about the importance of environment protection, he continued.
The event seeks to “strengthen brotherhood and friendship ties” between Arab scouts, concluded Bouallag.
