Algeria hails UN resolution condemning Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories

ALGERIA-Algeria has hailed Sunday the adoption by the United Nations Security Council of a resolution condemning Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories, calling on the international community to “take urgent measure to effectively implement this resolution.”
“We hail the adoption by the UN Security Council of the resolution n° 2334 condemning Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories,” Spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Abdelaziz Benali Cherif told APS.
For Benali Cherif, “this historic resolution is a major and positive step that must be hailed and can put an end, provided that there is an international will, to the stubbornness of the Israeli occupying forces, which continue to build settlements Palestinian territories, and its blatant disregard of the principles of international legality, international law and relevant UN resolutions.”
After calling on the international community to “take urgent measures to ensure the effective implementation of this resolution and put an end to all forms of abuses committed by the occupying forces, the same official congratulated the Palestinian people and government on this “major asset”, and reaffirmed Algeria’s “constant and unconditional support to the brotherly Palestinian people for the restoration of their legitimate rights, particularly the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with al-Quds as capital city.”
