Messahel, Le Drian hold discussions in Paris

PARIS – Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel on Monday in Paris held discussions with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian.The meeting took place in the Quai d’Orsay.
Messahel is in France for the 5th Algerian-French Joint Economic Committee (COMEFA) and the 4th session of the Algerian-French Strategic Dialogue on security and counterterrorism questions.
COMEFA is a mechanism which was created in May 2013 with the objective of fostering and diversifying the economic, industrial and commercial relations between Algeria and France.
The two countries’ foreign ministers have regular discussions to examine the state of the progress of the bilateral relations as well as the prospects of their development and share views on the common-interest questions like counterterrorism, illegal immigration, and the situation in the Sahel, Mali and in Libya.
