ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika a said the 2018 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa cooperation (FOCAC), being held in Beijing, China,
was a “good opportunity” to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two sides and foster peace and development, stressing the “shared destiny between China and the African countries.”
In a contribution published in a special issue of China Investment magazine, on the occasion of the 3rd Summit of the Forum on China-Africa cooperation, President Bouteflika said the achievements made over the last three years in implementation of the recommendations of the 2ndsummit held in Johannesburg in 2015, “show clearly the firm determination of China and the African countries to establish an effective model of South-South partnership.”
President Bouteflika emphasized the “special position” given to Africa in both Chinese initiatives: “the Belt and the Road,” and in the concept of the “community of shared future for mankind.”
The forum, he said, is an “extension of the relations of historical friendship between China and African countries.”
It “shows the achievements made by the two sides since the establishment of the FOCAC, in the year 2000, in various fields.”
Building a community of shared future for mankind and achieving “the living together in peace,” suggested by Algeria, requires “the combination of efforts with the involvement of all countries to establish a sustainable peace worldwide, based on justice and dialogue among cultures and civilizations,” President Bouteflika stressed.
