APS : Tuesday, 01 November 2016
ALGIERS- Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra affirmed Monday, in Algiers, that the values of 1st November will remain rooted in the memory of all the Algerians.
“we are convinced that the values of the 1st November and the objectives for which 1.5 million martyrs fell will remain rooted in our memories and hearts,” said Lamamra, on the occasion of the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the outbreak of 1st November 1954, at the headquarters of Foreign Affairs Ministry, to which former war veterans took part.
He added that these values and objectives will remain a “strong motivation” in “all our works” in the best interest of the country, underlining that this symbolic date recalls that “the people’s willingness” for their emancipation is “unshakeable” and that when the Algerian people decided to sacrifice themselves, the victory was theirs.
Broaching the declaration of the 1st November 1954, Lamamra said that we should draw our inspiration from it in “our works, as it has been done since the independence of Algeria,” notably at the institutional and constitutional levels, as well as the country’s foreign policy.
“Our hope is big in the ability of Algeria to always achieve successes, to keep its head high among nations, because it’s Algeria which gave the best examples in the resistance and sacrifice for freedom and independence,” he said.
