UNEP: Algeria elected vice-chair of bureau of Permanent Representatives Committee

ALGIERS- Algeria has been elected vice-chair of the bureau of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Ministry
of the Environment said Tuesday in a statement.
“Algeria has been elected for a two-year term, as of 1 July 2021, Vice-chair of the bureau of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP),” said the source.
The decision was adopted in the extraordinary meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), held on 23 June 2021 in Nairobi, added the source.
“The election of Algeria as vice-president of the bureau of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the United Nations Environment Programme has come following the proposal of the African group to be represented by Algeria within this committee and for its efforts in the field of environment protection and sustainable development,” added the source.
