ALGIERS-Algerian table tennis player Abdelbasset Chaichi won the bronze medal of the simple junior competition
after being eliminated Tuesday in semi-finales by Marwan Abdelwahab 4-3 (8-11, 11-3, 11-8, 8-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-5) part of the African table tennis Championship 2016 (all categories) to wrap up this evening in Cheraga.
For his part, Mohamed Sebia, eliminated in quarter-finals by Marwan Abdelwahab (Egypt) 4-0 (12-10n 11-4, 11-5, 11-5), finished in 8th and last position after losing two matches against Tunisian Youssef Ben Attia and Congolese Jeancy Obindza.
As for women, Malissa Nasri ranked 6th and Beyamina Mokhtaria finished 8th.
For their part, Algerians Houda Nourhane Taguercifi (3rd of group A) and Hadjer Tahmi (4th of group D) did not manage to move to quarter-finals.
