President Tebboune receives former president of Niger Mahamadou Issoufou

ALGIERS – President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received Thursday in Algiers former president of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou, said the Presidency of the Republic in a statement.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, and chief of staff to the presidency of the Republic, Abdelaziz Khellaf.
In a statement to the press after the meeting, Issoufou said he had discussed with President Tebboune “the situation in the Sahel, including the security crisis facing the Sahel countries, namely Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Chad.
He said, in this regard, that he had strongly with President Tebboune on solutions to end the crisis in the Sahel.
The former president further conveyed to the President of the Prepublic a message from his Nigerien counterpart, Mohamed Bazoum.
Algeria has a “role to play in the implementation of these solutions,” he said.
Issoufou said, moreover, that he had discussed with President Tebboune the situation in the entire African continent, including the socio-economic situation on the 2063 agenda of the African Union (AU).
“We discussed the major projects under this agenda as the development of infrastructure in Africa,” he added.
The need to speed the implementation of these projects in the interest of the development of the continent was also underlined, he said, saying that “Algeria works tirelessly to implement the 2063 Agenda.”
